UNSERE GESCHICHTE
2015
Earthquake in Nepal
Our journey began in 2015 after the devastating earthquake in Nepal. Two of our co-founders were there during the disaster. After spending weeks delivering food and tents to remote mountain villages, we decided to start our own association.
2016
Foundation of NePals e.V.
In Europe, we formed NePals e.V., mainly run by enthusiastic students who volunteered their time. By 2017, we had rebuilt family homes and classrooms that had collapsed in the earthquake, helped 19 children attend school and university and worked on digitising patient records in a mountain hospital.
2018
Start of the water project
We changed our approach in 2018, focusing on social entrepreneurial projects with local partners. The Happy Water Project, our first Social Business, has been providing clean and affordable drinking water to over 7,500 people since.
2019
Start of the ReValue project
In 2019, we launched the ReValue Project with the vision of treating plastic waste as a resource instead of trash. What started as an initiative to build roads using low-value plastic has grown in investing into the Nepali recycling infrastructure. Now, it has become an extensive research project focused on the plastic recycling market in Nepal and the plastic credit system.
2019
Foundation of NIDISI Nepal
In 2019, we established NIDISI Nepal, a crucial step for our Nepali-European organisation. It ensures the legal execution of projects in Nepal and strengthens our local presence. While we operate as distinct entities, we work as a unified team, collaborating closely to dream up and implement projects together.
2020
Start of the Menstruation Project
Starting off with a series of workshops on menstruation and how to manage it safely, the project quickly developed into what it is today: a social business producing and distributing biodegradable menstrual pads made from banana fibre that we developed ourselves. The profits will finance extensive awareness campaigns on menstruation in Nepal.
2021
Foundation of NIDISI gGmbH
In 2021, we launched NIDISI gGmbH, transforming our association, NePals e.V., into a non-profit, steward-owned limited liability company. This exciting evolution marks a new chapter in our journey to make a big impact with a fresh approach.

Das sind wir
Vereint durch unsere Vision, verbunden durch unsere gemeinsamen Werte und angetrieben von unserer unerschütterlichen Überzeugung, dass es die Menschheit besser machen kann.
